Room Reservation Policy

For UNC Faculty

The computer lab at the Odum Institute is available to faculty at UNC on a space-available basis. There is a limit of three times per semester for regular classes. This policy may change when the Odum Institute moves to Davis Library in the spring/summer of 2013.

For Organizations outside UNC

The classroom is also available to organizations outside the university for a fee. Please contact Paul Mihas for more specific information on pricing.

Lab Capabilities

Lab 01 has numerous capabilities for presenting multimedia information. All audio and visual equipment is connected to a touch-panel screen at the front of the classroom.

There are 28 computer stations as well as a computer located at the podium. All computers are loaded with many statistical, qualitative, and GIS software packages. All computer stations are connected to two drives on the Odum file server. The first connection is the instructor-share connection. This connection is "read only" for computer station users. Course material can be placed on this drive so that users can copy it to the local machine or read it without the ability to make edits. The second connection is the Odum-lab-share connection that allows users to save their coursework and continue working on it on another day. The lab also has wireless capabilities for UNC students, staff, and faculty.
