Paul Voss
Paul Voss, professor emeritus in the department of rural sociology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a noted expert in spatial analysis and spatial regression, has joined the Odum Institute for Research in Social Science as a half-time consultant to work with UNC faculty and students. Voss has won many awards and fellowships in the field. In 2006 he was a Visiting Research Fellow at the National Centre for Geocomputation at the National University of Ireland at Maynooth. From 2007 to 2010 he will serve as an invited member of the user working group for the NASA Socioeconomic Data and Applications Center at the Center for International Earth Science Information Network. Voss has also served as an invited faculty member for a course in spatial regression analysis through the InterUniversity Consortium for Political and Social Research (ICPSR) located at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. Voss is a skilled teacher and accomplished researcher and has a knack for making complex topics in spatial regression and analysis accessible to non-experts. Voss's office hours are by appointment.
